Romain Champalaune (France)

After Film Editing studies, Romain Champalaune decided to focus on photography. He graduated from the French National School of Photography Louis-Lumiere in 2012. After graduation he worked on the Iranian society for two years. He depicted the daily life of a Mollah, showed the booming of plastic surgery and the absurd censorship of women’s bodies in Hollywood movies. Today he explores questions related to the world economy. The first chapter of this work is about the Samsung Group in South Korea. His photographs are published in national and international publications: Le Monde, The New York Times, Der Spiegel, D La Repubblica, WIRED, Marie-Claire, among others. His work has been exhibited at the Prix Bayeux-Calvados Festival, at Visa Pour l’Image. His first movie “Samsung Galaxy” has been selected at numerous film festivals including the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival. In 2015 he is laureate of the Marcel Bleustein-Banchet Foundation, and he is now a frequent collaborator of the show “Humans” broadcast on the Dutch National network NPO.
