Andrej A. Tarkovskij was born in Moscow in August 1970. Son of Andrei Tarkovskij, he dedicates his life and professional activity to the preservation and promotion of his father's work. He lives between Florence, Paris and Moscow. President of the Andrei Tarkovskij International Institute, he is a documentary director. He made his debut in 1996 with the TV documentary Andrej Tarkovskij. The memory, on the life of the father; he also realizes docu-portraits on artists and directs musical performances. He collaborates with Russian and Italian televisions and with the German label ECM. In 2006, with his film Bastignano, he won the first prize at the Sabaudia Short Film Festival. He organizes photographic and retrospective exhibitions all over the world.
