Rita Bakacs was born in Hungary and lives in Berlin. A Comparative Literature graduate, she started work in film and television as a researcher, writer and editor, before turning more and more to creative documentary films. She is also collaborating with other directors as a writer and editor. Her work and her collaborations have been shown and awarded at festivals around the world, including awards at Dok Leipzig, Jihlava IDFF, Max Ophüls Preis, Thessaloniki or Bayerischer Filmpreis. Bakacs is a Berlinale Talents alumni.
