Carlos Alberto Cortes Guerrero Tayo was born on March 14, 1978 in the city of Pasto in the south of Colombia. In 1998, he moved to Barcelona where he studied direction and cinematography at the Centre d’Estudis Cinematogràfics de Catalunya (CECC). At present, he works as cinematographer for the Catalan XTVL network while preparing his first fiction feature. His film La casa was awarded the Silver Dove at the Leipzig festival.
